“I am excited that the volunteer work of woman during the Second World War is finally going to be recognized. My uncle, H.O. Mills (‘Uncle Mel’), and our family were the primary movers behind the Halifax Concert Party, one of the groups that organized to provide entertainment to the armed forces and merchant mariners. The Halifax Concert Party provided more performances than any other group in Canada.”
